What’s happening, McDoc?
I’m still working on the translation. Fine-tuning stage, deadline is the 15th of May.
Also I have squeezed in some work on the website of Stagecraft Entertainment, have designed a promotional flyer for the Tom Waits Biography.
I will also start working on my speech for Interesting Berlin. Which will deal with a project from last year, called “Living With Jesus”. Deadline is June 12th. You can get your tickets at the Interesting Berlin website. Maybe see you there?

They do it with strings
I simply love the work “In Silence” by Chiharu Shiota. One of the strongest works I have seen lately.
Go see it here.

Shelf #1
The artist Sebastian Errazuriz has a nice shelf design, the “Repisa N5″.
It does look a bit bulky really and one would have to see it in use at home. I could imagine it in some parts of the apartment where I would want to display different things at different times, like the latest oversized book, the latest painting I bought or something like that.

One year late.
2001 was supposed to be the year of the monolith. The black one. Remember the movie?
A danish artist has built the thing in 2002. Science Fiction became reality. Just one year behind schedule. Pretty impressive under the circumstances.

19.20.21
What is it, exactly? I don’t really know, but it kind of sounds, erm, interesting.
19.20.21 is a project, with the following mission: “ The mission of 19.20.21 is a multi-year, multimedia initiative to collect, organize and package information on population’s effect regarding urban and business planning and its impact on consumers around the world. This 5+ year initiative will deliver results via 5 channels: online, television, print, exhibits and seminars. This project will include 10 worldwide partners and appropriate affiliates.“
Unfortunately, the website offers no further insight in who the partners are, what one can do to participate, what the time schedule is etc. One can’t contact anyone, can’t subscribe to a newsletter or anything else. Just watch. (This at 080120.)
So, I have sent an email to the person who seems to host the site, Richard Saul Wurman, who has created the project 19.20.21 with Larry Keely, Jon kamen, Michael Hawley and Robert Friedman. I have simply requested further information and asked to be updated.

Deeper Luxury
WWF has issued a report I have downloaded but not yet read. It is an “analysis of the environmental and social performance of the luxury goods sector” – so I guess it’s worth reading.

Free PDF Magazines
Have to check this one out later on. Maybe tonight.
Ok. Checked it out. The navigation is simple and effective enough,
the content is mixed, obviously.
What I have learned is:
It sucks to read PDF mags on a screen.
It just sucks.

The Art Monastery
Send a bunch of artists to Italy to live in a monastery in exchange for decorating the place. Love the idea, would like to be there. Awesome project, in my eyes a sort of mix between ancient artist – client relationship and modern approach.
